lots of close-ups, and of course a few time lapse shots...

i just saw the "director's" cut (also known as the cut-it-to-be-more-action-packed-or-we'll-do-it-for-you-oliver cut) of alexander. it was about as bad as i expected it to be, but to be fair i'm not really a huge fan of oliver stone.

i have watched a lot of cool stuff in the past couple of weeks though.

spring, summer, fall, winter...and spring- i dug this movie, but i was really in the mood to watch something slow and pretty at the time. i think that's needed.
contempt- i could write about 20 pages on how much a loved this movie. i wont.
raising arizona- kelle had never watched this, so we did. the first 10 or so minutes of this movie, right up to the title coming on screen are just genius in my mind. the rest of the movie is awesome too, don't get me wrong, but the start of that movie is just killer.
deadwood (season 1)- i thought it started kind of slow, but once they figured out all the characters i thought is was great, with the last 5 or so episodes being awesome. i can't wait for season 2 to come out on dvd. what season is airing right now?
six feet under (seasons 1-3)- i love this show. the first 5 minutes of season 3's first episode are maybe my favorite in tv history. season 4 comes out on dvd towards the end of august, so i'm just counting down the days.

i'm going to go watch alejandro amenabar's the sea inside now, i hear good things, take it easy.

i saw 'the sea inside' @kyt. and i didn't like it. i thought that the only reason why it was so popular was because it was in spanish. if it was in english, it would have been just like every other hollywood movie [IMO]. i was expecting a strange movie, more about him dreaming. i wanted more of a dreamers movie.

i agree totally with 'raising arizona', on the top of my lists of favorites.

i haven't seen any of the rest. i almost have seen 'spring, summer...'
